Interfaith Vigil

Interfaith Vigil at Islamic Society of Greater Springfield.

Overwhelming turnout and show of support from the community of Springfield including the presence of Senator Dick Durbin, Representative Jim Butler and Springfield Mayor James O. Langfelder. Also present were religious leaders of Springfield to remember the victims of San Bernardino and to show support for the Muslim community.

Illinois Muslim Action Day

Attached is the legislative agenda for this year’s Illinois Muslim Action Day. Please spread the word about the potluck dinner hosting the IMAD representatives on Monday April 18 at the Masjid beginning at 6 PM. The IMAD Executive Director will be our speaker between Maghrib and Isha. Insha-Allah see you on Monday.

Halaqa

Bismillah, Assalamu Alaykum,

The time for the Halaqa tonight has been changed. Insha-Allah we will pray Maghrib together and begin right after Maghrib. See you tonight Insha-Allah.

Halaqa Tonight

Insha-Allah there will be a Halaqa tonight after Isha (8 PM) on the character of our noble Messenger. Please bring your families and a snack to share with everyone. We’re  also making hot chocolate to share 🙂

Clothing Drive for Syrian Refugees

Bismillah, Assalam Walaykum,

Tomorrow is the last day to drop off the clothes for Syria. Please bring the clothes to Jummah tomorrow Insha-Allah. The truck will leave Insha-Allah Saturday morning for Indiana to drop off the clothes at Rahma Relief. We will load the truck first at the An-Noor center (3253 Mathers Road) at 7 PM tomorrow (Friday night). We will then head over to UIS to pick up the clothes from the Diversity Center and then come to the Masjid to pick up the remainder of the clothes Insha-Allah.

Local Food Drive

Please bring non-perishable food items (soups, beans, canned vegetables, rice, flour, sugar, pasta, etc.) to the Masjid. We will be collecting the supplies this Friday and the next and taking directly to the local Food Pantry here in Springfield.
